China national silk museum(Hangzhou)Tours
When I was strolling around West Lake, I accidentally found out that the China national silk museum near the Yuhuang Mountain doesn’t need tickets or reservations, you can just swipe your passport and go in for a visit. Here is worthy of China’s largest silk museum, venue design is very beautiful, small bridges, lotus pavilions, fish and geese mulberry grass, everywhere reveals a strong Jiangnan flavor.
China national silk museum has five venues, I spent about 3 hours to finish. Especially recommended to leave more time to visit the Silk Road Museum, this museum to the “Silk Road” as the theme, where you can not only learn a lot of silk history and culture can also see a lot of silk-related artifacts. My favorite or the design of this venue, the rotating staircase and soft light and shadow to create the beauty of the building, incorporating a sense of silk flow, very distinctive
Weaving Museum shows the silk weaving technology, the museum arranged a “weaver” in the museum weaving, a more intuitive display of the manufacturing process of silk, edutainment and fun.
Mulberry Museum shows the life of silk manufacturing, from mulberry, silk, printing and dyeing to embroidery a series of processes, so that we understand the complexity of this ancient technology.
Restoration Museum mainly shows the identification and restoration of textiles and related cultural relics and protection.
It is recommended to visit the Western Fashion Exhibition on the first floor and the Chinese Fashion Exhibition on the second floor, which I think can let people feel the different aesthetics and temperament of each era most intuitively.
There is also an exhibition on Chinese dowry, which is worth visiting. The exhibition shows dowry from different periods after the founding of the PRC, and you can feel the change of society from the change of wedding dresses, and each piece of dowry is super beautiful and even gives people a shocking feeling.
